  • What error appear when you are exporting?

  • Hi Miharja

Can you explain what's happening ?

Is the export/import operation fail ?

    With an error message ?

Did you got information in the log file ?

Normaly, you may find the error or warning reason that prevent this operation.

Remember that item whitch date is older than the ones in the database are ignored.

So, if you have export an item + modify it in the Dv Explorer + attempt to import the old version, it will not work.

In that case, 2 solutions :

    - delete the item in the dv explorer before import it

    - or modifiy (*) the "Time=" data fields in the FHX file before import (may occurred several times in the file)

Be very carefull not to modify all of then; just for the item you need.

(*) "Time=" data in the FHX file must be earlyer than the last modified date/time in the dv explorer.

This data is a long number (timestamp) that represent the number of seconds since 01/01/1970.

If you test it in the same day you build the FHX file, add 86400 (or 50000) to the actual "Time=" data fields in the FHX file.

Also check that your ProPlus date is correct (not too much different from the date/time of the machine from witch you export datas).

    Hi Miharja,

Immediately following the failed import, find the ImportExportProgress.log file in the DeltaV\dvdata folder.

Copy/paste the contents from there into this thread and we'll see from the errors/warnings what your issue is.

    Hi Miharja,

If you cannot export, then it looks like instalaltion, or licensing, or user rights issue.

If you cannot import, then it may be installation, version mismatch, user rights, or currupt FHX file issue.

Since FHX is simple text file, even in case of bad FHX file, some partial import/export generally takes place. You can diagnose it with the log file. But if the import/export is not allowed / proceeding aheadfrom the system, then the issue has to be diagnosed outside FHX file.

Please give more details / snapshots, about the problem you are facing.

FHX update in notepad is easy way to quick fix the problems with exported database, but first confirm, if the issue is with the FHX file or the system itself.

Also this update should be done only by someone who understands the FHX file structure well.

If you are new to DeltaV, please avoid it as much as possible. Half updated FHX files may create issues in the database on system, when imported.

    Hi Jack,

    A small correction:

Item for whitch date "and last update username" is "Same" than the ones in the database are ignored. Older items can still be imported & it overwrites the existing newly updated objects.
