flow transmitter selection

Hello

I want to install flow transmitter in pipeline. The transmitter should sense the flow in pipe in both directions. Somebody can help me to select right transmitter type.

  Dear Mohsen,

  An Ultrasonic flowmeter is a bidirectional flowmeter and should able to measure flow in pipe for both direction,

  Hi,

  There are several DP Flow technologies you could consider for bi-direcitonal flow.  These technologies include certain styles of the averaging pitot tube, venturi, and wedge meters.  Your application can help determine which technology is the best fit.  For example, if the application is steam and you are also concerned about permanent pressure loss, an averaging pitot tube is a good fit, or if the fluid is highly viscous/dirty, a wedge or venturi meter might offer a better solution.

  Hi Mohesn,

  We have not met - I am Bill Graber with Emerson.  I have worked with Emerson for 20 years across several flow technologies within our offering - including DP Flow, Coriolis, Magnetic and Vortex.  I would reccomend that you give us more details on your application, including the use of the measurement (is this custody transfer, monitoring, control, etc), what is the line size, fluid, pressure, temperature, estimated flow rates.  If you tell us these details, we will be able to guide you to a couple options for solutions that could meet your needs.

  For crude measurement either you can use Daniel Liquid USM model 3812 which is a 2 path meter or a 4 path meter.
