Redundant AI (8 CH) Card Switch over - Related

Hi, This is Regarding Switch over in Redundant AI Cards

During diagnostics, It was observed "?" in Redundant AI Card.

The summary of Diagnostics:

Switch_Aail  =  Switchover Avaliable   ( Avalibale - common faults, Resolve Problem and Clear Saved Fault Information)

POINTEG = BAD

PStatus = Need to clear error to be  able to switch.

Note: There are no other errors and all channels are Good.

The two Redundant cards getting i/ps from the common i/p terminal block.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Questions are :

1. Where the fault information will be stored anywhere ?  to Know the Reason.

2. I suspect - Fault occurred due to a channel i/p loop is open for maintenance & lt is closed after work. If so, in this case - if any other channel of that card is open (or) Card itself fails - whether Switch over will happen to Redundant card, without clearing the fault information?

3. Pl, Mention in which cases switch over will happen with different possibilities.

-----------------------------

Thanks in advance.

  • Is there a way to "Clear Saved Fault Information" Programmatically? I have several redundant I/O cards that need to be reset due following scheduled maintenance power outages, and I was thinking that I could make a display for the redundant cards, and have a "Clear Saved Fault Information" button on the same display that would only show if the PSTATUS = "Need to clear errors to be able to switch" AND if the POInteg = "BAD".
    Questions:
1.) I do not see PStatus, nor do I see POInteg in the "DIagnostic Parameters", Will I be able to connect to these with a VB Button on the display?
2.) What Parameter do I send the "Clear Errors" button on the Redundant Card? What value do I send to this parameter?

Any help/direction that you can provide would be very much appreciated.
