it reverts me back to the original folder. Kindly help me with this.
Thanks a lot

It could also be Yellow Pages (otherwise known as the Auto Update service) . It copies files to all the workstations from the master node. Usually the master is the ProPlus but, if the master is unavailable (like during a download maybe?) then the service elects a new master based on the lowest IP address on the network. That can cause files from a workstation to get copied back to the ProPlus. To test this, you can uncheck the "Graphics" option on the Auto Update service in the DeltaV group of the Start menu. I think it must be disabled on all the workstations. If the problem goes away, then it was Yellow Pages.

Carl, Are you confusing Auto Update service with Directory Services? My understanding was that Directory Services, which provides controllers with information about remote modules will be the Pro Plus by default, but if the pro plus is not available, the next lowest IP addressed workstation will provide the data. Auto Update is used to propagate the workstation files, such as global setup data, pictures, etc to all workstations. Master files are on the Pro Plus, and if it is not available, then any editing on a workstation remains local to that station until the changes can be uploaded to the pro plus and from there sent out all nodes via auto update.
Or am I confused?!.

Back to the original issue, what "changes to the PIC folder" are we talking about. Did you manipulate files and directories in that folder using Windows Explorer? Are you on the Pro Plus or another station?
Auto Update stores files in the Yellow Pages directory and these can work there way back into the PIC folder after you make changes to a picture on a workstation. I've seen this when the workstation and pro plus don't have the same time, and what I think happens is the file in the yellow pages folder has a more recent time stamp than the modified file, and auto update decides the new file must be the right one. This can be real problem trying to remove a "future" file from the system as it tends to repopulate itself.
Since we don't know exactly what was modified, or how, or what node, its unlikely we can help, and I might must be sending you on a wild goose chase. ( Hmm. Since this is world wide forum, I wonder what some might think a wild goose chase is anyway. )
Thanks Carl & Andre,
My issue has been resolved, thanks to Andre's suggestion. The Yellow Pages were the actual culprit. They were updating the files again and again. So i replaced them with oldest Pro plus Yellow Pages backup.Made the required changes to the PIC folder (addition of some new P&IDs and some copies of faceplates).Checked that the Auto update is disabled for the node.Downloaded it again and it didn't update it to the older ones. This didn't turn into a wild goose chase at all ( i do know what this phrase means....:) ).
Thanks a lot guys.
