Disable Electronic Signature Request

Hello Everyone,

I will like to know if somebody could help me with the following issue regarding Electronic Signature en DeltaV.

Each time I try to change a variable in a module online in a Engineering Station a message of Electronic Signature Request Pops up, making toubleshooting tasks very anoying.

I already disable the Electronic Signature in the System Preferences of the Proplus, but the issue remains

Thanks,

Alejandro Quiroga

  • Have you restarted DeltaV database server ( from dbadmin) after unchecking option in system preferences?
  • Disabling in System Preferences does not change the configured functionality.  It alters the options available in the configuration environment and hides the deselected features.

I think you will have to alter your Signature policies.  If you want to disable the policy on a specific module, you can right click on that module in Explorer, select Electronic Signatures and delete the assigned signature.  That will require a download of the module to tell the system not to use a signature on this module.

To disable Policies across the system, you need to access the Electronic Signatures Properties dialog.  This is under the Security container.

Disable the option "Enable Electronic Signatures on DeltaV Live, DeltaV Operate and DeltaV Control Studio"

Or you may want to modify the Policy assigned to this module and remove the signature requirement on some of the parameters or fields so that the policy is appropriately designed on those parameters that should have it.  You can require some parameters to require the Confirm options while other parameters are

The signatures are enforced in all three applications so that changes cannot be made with Control Studio On line as this is typically available to operators.  If Control Studio bypassed the signatures, a user could selectively bypass the signatures.

You will have to decide whether you can alter the policies, but they were created for a reason.  Maybe the policy is too extensive.  Note that every parameter change is logged in the event chronicle, indicating the workstation and user that made the write.  The Policy provides an additional check/step on items that have serious consequences or require confirmation that the Operator is actually making the change.

    Thank you Andre,

I already disable the option "Enable Electronic Signatures on DeltaV Live, DeltaV Operate and DeltaV Control Studio" on the Security container, but the issue continues.
I also checked if they were any policies configured but I didnt find them. By the way Im using a DeltaV 12.3.1 version.
