My purpose is to connect the loading Control system (Smith Meter AccuLoad III to the DCS (Emerson DeltaV M series).
Communication characteristics: Modbus Rs485 full duplex, the DCS is the master and the Smith Meter AccuLoad III is the Slave.
With the instrumentation team, we prepared the adequate wiring between both units.
I Installed a new serial Card, 2 ports, RS232/RS485 and I performed the adequate configuration (enable the port, add a device, configure the datasets) After several tests and download and after lunching the Diagnostics in DeltaV a new message appears "ConfbutNotPresent prog".
Results: - Communication lost between controller and Serial card- Red-Error LED is showing a continuous fault Indication
Actions- I removed the card and reinstalled again problem persisting.- I installed the card in a new slot and reconfigured it, but the problem is persisting.
Question: - can we say that the serial card is damaged? - Do you think that a download of controller can solve the issue?
