Unable to add parameter path to server subscription-Excel Addin.

HI Folks

I am trying to read online parameters on excel which is installed on the Proplus through excel Add in.

The OPC server is a different machine.

Whenever I try and add any parameter, it gives the following error,

"Unable to add parameter path to server subscription.Exceeded OPC server license limit. Item not added."

My OPC server has all the relevant licenses and I should not be getting this error while trying to read the online values of parameters in excel.

Do I need to change any server settings in excel to point to my OPC server.

If that is the case, How do I do that or any other thing that I need to do so that the data starts to appear in excel

ANy help will be highly appreciated

  I can configure and read the event chronicle and the historian parameters through excel add In, as while configuring those parameters, it gives me an option to change servers and I can link to my application station to read the data on excel but Whenever I try and read any parameter through excel add in Read real-time data, it gives me an error "Unable to add parameter path to server subscription.Exceeded OPC server license limit. Item not added." Any workaround on this an how can I change the Server when reading parameters through Read real-time data option.

  The Excel OPC server is defaulting to the local OPC server on your workstation. If you purchased the Excel Add In license, it comes with an OPC Server license you would apply to the workstation and unlock this local OPC Server.
  
  Alternatively, you should be able to redirect the local OPC Server to run on the Application station. However, I'm not able to get this to work. I'm missing something. I don't recommend doing this on the Pro Plus.
  
  I've tried to set this up on my test system, but I'm missing something. So rather than tell you what I've done that doesn't work, I'm hoping someone can jump in and tell us how to redirect the OPC server to the App Station.

  Hi Andre, Thanks for the reply. I can read the historian and event chronicle through that add In as it has an option to change servers when browsing the parameters but not when you read the data through read real time option. So If I install my excel on OPC application station, will it then read data through the Read real time data option. But that is a work around, There has to be way to read data on the proplus itself. Hoping someone can give a solution to this.
