Filtering alarms by custom category

I have created alarm "categories" other than "PROCESS", "INSTRUMENT", etc.  I would like to create default graphics that filter on these categories, so I copy the alarmlist page, and select from the "more filters" tab the category I want (IE "Input in Manual").  But the alarm list is always blank.  Does the activeX not allow for the use of non-standard category names?  Is there any other way to get a display list of all alarms with a specific category?  FYI, in process history view, you can see and filter by the custom category.

  I am not sure about DeltaV Operate, but a few years ago I investigated using custom categories with OPC A&E and the OPC interface did not pass the custom catagories.

  What alarm priority number(s) are you trying to show with the "IE" category?
  Are you seeing any alarms in alarm list?
  If you go to the Area Filter display, are all the areas checked that you want to use for this display?
  If you have recently added areas to alarms and events, log back into DeltaV again.

  I think v13 and up can be filtered using categorization - can anyone confirm this?
  
  lower than that, can only be filtered using alarm prioritization. area.

  I have all areas checked. I can see alarms, but then when I go filter by any custom category, no alarms show up. I am on the latest version, this is a brand new install.
