Want to help shape future Emerson product improvements? Here’s how.

In 2010, Emerson chartered the User Driven Enhancement Program (UDEP) to give a voice for user ideas to improve the DeltaV™ distributed control system (DCS) and AMS Device Manager. The program provided a mechanism for all users to submit improvement ideas as well as a user committee to drive implementation of the enhancement ideas in these products. Since then, the program has grown to include input on enhancement ideas for all Emerson Automation Solutions products and has committees to drive improvements for DeltaV users and for Reliability users.

Both UDEP committees are comprised of users from various industries served by Emerson Automation Solutions – chemical/specialty chemical, energy/hydrocarbon processing (power, refining, oil and gas), life sciences, food and beverage, metals and mining. The committee members serve the user community by driving user enhancement ideas and serving as a sounding board for additional product changes.

This diverse group of users on the DeltaV committee sort, evaluate, prioritize, and select the ‘top’ ideas from the community to implement in a future offerings. While not all product lines have this formal process for implementing user ideas, the submitted user ideas are passed on to the appropriate personnel for consideration.

Emerson and the UDEP committees encourage you to go to the UDEP website (www.userideas-emerson.com) if you have ideas for product enhancements. You can learn more about the UDEP committees and the work they have done at Emerson Exchange – Workshop session 3-14449 or at the UDEP booth in the Technology Exhibits.
