Delta V operate face plate Problem. Set point Value Propagating one face plate to Other face plate.DeltaV 12.3

Hello everybody,I am facing a problem related to simple PID loop.

I have two PID controllers FIC and LIC, both are independent and in different units. In auto mode when, I change the the set point of LIC on faceplate (let say sp=15) it automatically
changes the set point of FIC (sp=15).This problem get resovled for sometime by closing and reopening the HMI but occurs again after some time. This set point value is being propagated to
one faceplate to other,I also run the update popup utility and update main picture but not much luck..I am using PCSD Library

A quick response would be highly appreciated !!.

  • Is the value changing in ifix, control studio or both?

  • In reply to Stuart Jolley:

    in Both of them
we open 2 PID faceplate in one station, when we give any value to one of them, also the other faceplate (the Output value) is changed with this value. this is an abnormal problem.

Is your process in a state where you can download changed setup data to the operator interfaces and the controllers?

This type is problem should be taken directly to the GSC. A public forum like this one may not get you a timely response. and with many contributors, the solution maybe slow to develop as we may suggest things that do not lead to the solution. I'm hoping you've resolved this by now but in case you are still struggling,..

First, can we confirm that the issue is only related to writes executed from the Faceplate, and that writing from Control Studio or directly from dynamos in the display are resulting in the expected changes in the control module? One thing you can confirm is that when a write is done from the faceplate, does DeltaV record the Parameter Change record in the Event chronicle as being to the correct module or the incorrect module? The would confirm to us that the Faceplate is still bound to the first module, and that the faceplate replacement is not executing correctly.

Does this occur with any other modules? Does it occur on all consoles or just a single one? What is the name of the Faceplate file, and has it been modified/customized?

Once you can confirm the issue only occurs with DeltaV Operate and not with control studio, we can focus on the source of the issue. But please loc a call with the GSC

  • I've experienced this before and it was related to the SCU settings/temporary files. A couple of things to check, have you performed the "update popup pictures", have you verified that multiple temporary faceplate files exist (_fp1, fp2, etc.)? Secondly, is the SCU file pointing to the correct path? \\NODENAME\DVDATA\GRAPHICS-IFIX\PIC this should reference your specific workstation name.

Thanks every body, problem was due to temp files and yellow pages(errors), solved by restoring the workstations and removing the yellow pages errors by updating the graphic ifix by proplus.

Great to see your issue was resolved. And, Thanks so much for returning to the community to share the solution with others. Cheers!
