DeltaV v11.3.1 workstations (Window7) alarms (audio) when a face plate is opened (Ghost Alarm?) and there are no active alarms in alarm banner

I am trying to figure out an issue with an audio alarm happening when a face plate is opened in DeltaV display by clicking a module on the graphics in operate mode. The alarm sound is WS1-High@2009HCS.WAV. This happens on various modules,  different displays, and all workstations. This wav file is not assigned to any alarm priorities configured in setup of ProPlus. All alarms on the alarm banner are acknowledged and there is no new alarm diplayed on alarm banner. Workstations have ws_10 hotfix installed.

Has anyone encountered this issue? I will appreicate a feeback about your experience with this issue and how it was resolved or it can be resolved.

Regards

Jaimin

  • Have you checked event log? I've had similar instances of what appeared to be ghost, but were a result of incorrect auto ack and priorities settings.  Alarm sound would come but not be visible.

Adrain -Thanks for your reply. Do you have information about the event ID in sytem/application event log that I should specifically look for? I will check the work stations. Also any information about correctly setting alarm priorities and  auto ack. Your input is will be very valuable to me.
