Exporting parameters

Is there an easy way to export parameters of a module like out_scale, or a pv_scale, and alarm values? I am trying to export a bunch of modules at once to have an up to date parameter list but at this time I can not figure out using user defined exports to show those parameters. it is very time consuming going through every module to get some of these things. We have not kept very good record keeping in the past. Thanks

  • The parameters you refer to are function block parameters, not necessarily module parameters, so bulk export for reporting or summarization is usually module class centric, however if you build a fmt file including every potential path(ai1 , pid1, etc /outscale for example) then expory all modules, then filter out Null columns in excel for modules where the path does not apply, you will be most of the way there. Alarms are consolidated by SAM (system alarm management), but if your alarm is custom, the cross reference to the limit will not resolve.
  • , that's great advice. You can create a format file with all of the parameters included and export all of the modules using the same format file. When adding fields to your format file, you may find it easier to browse to a PID module that contains both AI and PID blocks so that the parameters are available to you in the browser when building your formyousat file. Another tip for automating your reporting is to use the mail merge feature of MS Word. Once you have your module data exported to Excel, you can link the mail merge document to the Excel table and automatically populate a Word document with the module data. For more advanced features of mail merge reporting, you can import your Excel table into an Access database and use the database as the source data for the mail merge.
