A Profibus PA segment can not be directly connected to the DeltaV Profibus dP IO card.  You will need a Profibus dP to Profibus PA segment coupler to connect the PA segment to a DeltaV Profibus card.  There are several manufacture of these couplers including Siemens and Pepperl+Fuchs.

We are using one from Pepperl+Fuchs, I think it is even in some Emerson recommendation. It works nicely, seamlessly, it's completely transparent as far as DeltaV is concerned (it does not have a Profibus address, etc.). BUT if your slave is using some special Profibus+PA features, you will probably not be able to use them from DeltaV. For example, our slave does not have jumpers or a menu to set its address, the master needs to give it with a special command. So we need to use a third party device to give it an address, after that the communication works fine with DeltaV too.

This is the third-party tool we are using: www.procentec.com/profitrace2. We mainly use it to generate diagnostic reports on the quality of the bus, this address setting is just a minor thing.
