Two System ID in same PLANT LAN and Same proplus name

HI guys I have a situation here,

I have 2 independent Deltav networks and both having the same PROPLUS name.

Before they were connected different External network.

Now customer wants to bring both in same network (same external LAN).

I tried to setup the same scenario in lab and found that database of 1 machine tries to access database of other.

When i remove External LAN both work properly, Even in OPCWATCHIT when i try to access database of 1 machine i get database of other machine.

Have anybody come across such situation?

  • Are they in a domain environment, are you using correctly configured DNS, and is the NIC binding order correct?

No they are not in Domain Environment , but in Workgroup (name of workgrup is also same and tried renaming workgroup but this dint solve the purpose)

  • What is it that you are trying to do with the external networks? Printer sharing, file transfer?

What is the binding order? SECONDARY -> EXTERNAL -> PRIMARY

Sounds like you might need to turn off netbios on the external NIC.

  • I would suggest to put a switch between the DeltaV stations and the external
network, and configure that all communication to 10.4.x.y and 10.8.x.y is
    not passing through.

Are you trying to connect two DeltaV systems together to make a single system or are you trying to just connect two systems together? If it's the latter you'll need to use DeltaV Zones because you can not have two ProPlus stations on a single network without the results you are seeing. Otherwise creating a separate LAN with non 10.x.x.x addresses is the way to go.
