Why doesn't DeltaV Smart Switch support Link Aggregation?

Some of my customer like to know if the DeltaV Smart Switch (VE6046P1 and etc.) supports link aggregation, especially LAFO (Link Aggregation Fiber Optic). They want to use LAFO to achieve high availability for both primary and secondary control network between buildings.

  • I can't say either way for the smart switches, but high availability in DeltaV is achieved through having two independent networks, primary and secondary, therefore, redundant fiber links between each switch wouldn’t really offer any benefit.

I know spanning tree isn’t supported, so I doubt LAG or fault tolerant links are either.
