Message Warning

Hi everyone,

In Delta V Operate Run, is there any option to disable the appearance of the Warning Window? When navigating through displays, I find it really annoying to click the 'Skip All' button every time.

Thnak you in advance for your assistance.

  • Hello Paula, every time you open the graphics where that control module is being used it will pop up because it's looking for a parameter that is not existing in the control module or as it says "parameter not configured", you either have to add it (in your case I can see it is a logic solver analog voter block LSAVTR1) in the control module or modify the graphics to not look at that parameter.

Just be careful because it looks like the control module is an SIS module you will need to redo the whole function test if you plan to do any changes. You can not just do a download as it will trip your whole process specially if there are references to that module. If you are not using that then you can just modify the graphics object where it is being used or best to create a new graphic object without that LSAVTR1 block then replace that object in the graphics, there are different ways but you need to discuss it with your team specially with an SIS control Module.

As pointed out, the reason you're getting this error is because your graphic object (Dynamo) is looking for a parameter that is non existing in the SIS module, the only way to clear the error is indeed to make the graphic object to match the SIS Module or Control Module.

The part of the response from that's really concerning is when says you'll have to redo the whole functional test, or a download will trip the plant, that's absolutely not true, downloads to a DeltaV Logic Solver do NOT lead to a trip, and not every single change will lead to a partial, let alone complete functional test.

    Rgs,
  • I believe she knows why she is getting the errors, and that was just an example; the question is that she wants to know if there is any way to skip that automatic warning of the system, disabling any inner characteristic of the DeltaV Operate itself, as she must be running some kind of migration or duplication of displays and she is tired of recognising the errors she already knows that are there, every single time she opens the displays.

Thanks for the correction Tadeu Batista, actually I was thinking of the changes that will be done on the SIS Module if they wanted to add the LASVTR block to get rid of the Error warning.

If the item(s) on the display is only for certain object types and then is not for other types but still using the same display you can add [_NOT_CONFIG_OK_] to the datalink(s) and then this error wouldn't be seen.
    Example datalink DVSYS.MODULE/FB_NAME/PARAMETER.F_CV[_NOT_CONFIG_OK_]

I just want to make it clear that downloading the DeltaV SIS Logic Solver will not cause the plant to trip, and modifications to the logic will require to test only what was modified, as part of the Management of Change procedure.

Exactly, I know why the errors are appearing and they will be solved soon, but meanwhile I need a way to skip the Warning Message until it is fixed.
From Delta V Operate (Configure), in the User Preferences (tab Picture Preferences), I changed the picture cache from 5 to 50 pictures in order to keep the decision of "Skip All the Warning Message" in the last 50 opened pictures. However, I was wondering if exists a solution to disable the Warning Window.

  • In reply to Matt Stoner:

Thank you for your reply Matt. Although it is a good solution when dealing with a few datalinks, in my case, it would not be feasible because I encounter many warning messages.
