We are currently at IFAT for S-chem Compressor upgrade project at KSA and we are facing issues with communication speed for communication between PLC (Schneider PLC connected directly to PK controller) to DCS.
The configuration is as follows:
We are using CISCO switches and have connected 3 PK300 controllers (redundant) to the Proplus (DeltaV 14.3.1).
The communication was dropping and we removed two controllers from the switch and then it started communicating without drop, but the communication from PLC to DCS is taking 4-5s (from PLC to DCS graphics (through LM of 1s scan & module of 1s scan & graphic of refresh rate 1s).
We then tried connecting directly from PK controller to PC through straight cable and the communication still takes 2-2.5s.(A value changed at PLC side is displayed after 2s in the DCS HMI).
The PLC cable (Primary and secondary are connected directly to the PK controller port 2 & 5 & the network cable from proplus is connected to port 1 & 4).
Kindly let us know if any setting has to be done at the PK controller or LDT level. The communication is through Modbus over Ethernet TCP.
We are going to flash the controllers with the latest hotfix, but other than this is there any way we can increase the speed of communication.
