As edge control emerges as one of the technologies transforming industrial automation, exciting new applications are being developed. A recently announced partnership between Arrowhead Systems, Inc. and Emerson is producing a next-generation, machine health monitoring solution which will increase uptime for high-speed palletizing applications across the consumer goods industry. The solution is also adaptable for use with other machinery applications.
According to Vibhoosh Gupta, senior staff manager, product management, Machine Automation Solutions, “This is an innovative use of our PACSystems CPL410 outcome optimizing controller as a method of bringing all sensor data together for accessibility, visualization and analysis. Predictive machine health and maintenance is vital in so many industries and this partnership is just one example of how edge control is bringing IoT into the real world.”
The machine health monitoring system is being demonstrated at #PACKEXPO2019.
