Restoring a DeltaV Node with a Different Machine ID

Hello All,

I am attempting to recover a virtual machine from a VMware environment to a Nutanix environment. I am able to copy the application station over to the new Nutanix environment with the same network configuration, but the application station is not detected/communicating on the DeltaV network. Additionally, the DeltaV service will not start.

The Primary and Secondary NIC MAC addresses are the same on both environments. Looking into it further, the machine ID is different from the original.

What is the best way to recommission a virtual station with a new machine ID on the DeltaV network?

  • Hi Hoang,
The machine ID I assume you mean the name of the machine in the virtual environment? This is simply an identifier to the VMware or Nutanix environment itself.

Ensure the Computer Name is the same in the Operating System settings itself and that the computer is a member of the domain. Once that is done, export a new workstation configuration file from the proplus, and then run workstation configuration on the App station. This should re-establish it with the database.
