How can you restore a particular graphic from a Version 14.3 Database Backup?

We have version 14.31 DeltaV Live. I understand that the graphics are stored in the database, and they are backed up when I do a database backup.

How can I restore a particular graphic from the previous database backup? Do I have to restore the entire database?

BOL says "

Restore Database dialog

This tool restores a previously backed up DeltaV database. The DeltaV database contains all the information about your control strategies and configuration data for your control network (nodes, controllers, I/O channels, workstations, and so on).

  • From a Backup, you need to restore the entire database. Then you can export the specific graphic you are looking for and import this into your current database.

The database administration tools give you a tool to export the database. From this, you can find the display file by name and import this XML file into your database.

Consider a Backup as a disaster recovery tool, which can only be used on the same version as the backup was made. A complete Export is a data management tool and allows you to extract items as well as import into different versions of databases. Good practice to have both, with regular backups to recover quickly from total loss. Progressive exports can then bring your backup current.

Also good practice to export items as you modify them as part of the MOC processes.
