  • The licenses are defined in one or more Text files with the extension .lia on the CD  These licenses are only valid on the Pro Plus that has the matching system ID dongle connected to it.

Insert the CD into the drive of the Pro Plus or a Pro Station and open DeltaV explorer.  From the File Menu select Licenses and select Load License File.  In the dialog, navigate to the CD and select the .LIA files.  Once they are loaded into the database you will need to assign them to appropriate node.

The Trend Licenses are  called Continuous Historian Tag licenses and will have a certain size or number of tags, based on what you purchased.  In DeltaV explorer right click on the History Server application station, select "Licenses" and then "Assign Licenses".  In the dialog that appears, you see all valid licenses for this workstation, and should see the Historian licenses you just loaded.  Select them and assign them to the station.

Once these licenses are assigned, they will no longer appear in the Assign Licenses dialog.  If you view "Assign Licenses" again, they will no longer appear.  You can select Check Licensing Properties to view all assigned licenses on the node, and should see the number of Continuous Historian incremented by the amount you assigned.

The Analog Inputs are global licenses for the system.  Once loaded, there is no further action.  In Explorer, select File/Licenses.  Select License Report to view your current licensing.  If you compare this before and after you load the license files, you will see the AI number increased by the scale up value of the new AI license.  These licenses are consumed when you enable new IO channels and reference them in a control module.
