Facing a problem with SIS analog inputs

Hi all,

I am using delta v version 11.3.1 with SIS. I am facing a critical problem with analog inputs.

I have 33 redundant SLS cards. In that my SLS no. 13/15  having a problem.

it consists of

4 analog inputs

5 Digital outputs

7 digital inputs

If I connect all DI and DO signals, then the card is normal. I checked diagnostics also except 4 analog inputs everything is working fine.

But if I connect any AI signal, within 2-4 minutes the "standby" card is getting bad and showing error also the diagnostic showing partner not available.

The "active" card is working fine.

During the rectification I changed SLS and termblock also.

Please help me to fix this problem

Your help is highly appreciated .

  • , I moved your question, here, to the Safety Instrumented Systems (or SIS) group where you should garner a more appropriate response. Thanks!

    Hi Roshan,

I could not find this issue in any of our konwledge base, since you've mentioned you have already replaced the standby logic solver, my question to you is if both are with the same firmware revision, which for V11.3.1 is the 3.1.0.7

  • Have you checked the field wiring, sounds like you may have an AI transmitter pulling down the 24V. I would send your instrument techs to verify all the field wiring for the analogue loops. At least, disconnect the wires on the field terminals in the transmitters and then connect one by one, see which transmitter is causing the problem.
