Create an Alarm Acknowledge push button

HI I w'd like to create a push button to acknowledge the alarms within a video page. I tried to use the graphical cmd "Acknowledge Alarm Expert" without success (I do not know which parameter i can use to recognize an alarm); subsequently I tried to use " Acknowledge All Alarms Expert" by inserting the graphic page where is use the push button but also here I was not successful. My system is DV v10.3.1 Build 3611.Pls can someone help me to resolve my request?

tks

  • AcknowledgeAllAlarms expert should work. Is the push button on the same page as the alarms? How are the "alarms" that you want to acknowledge displayed on the page ie is it an alarm summary object or individual objects animated by alarm parameters?
  • In reply to Cedric Dawnhawk:

Yes, the push button is on the same graphic page where I want to recognize the alarms. The alarms that I want to recognize are related to individual faceplate (eg. HHI limit or alarm associated with a pressure switch or a motor fail)

To clarify my previous comment, in order for the acknowledge all alarms to work there must be objects on the graphic page which have an animation source connected to one of the fields of the alarm parameter.

When trying to acknowledge the alarms, the logged on user must have security write access to the area to which the modules with the alarms are assigned.

Why do you need another button to acknowledge all alarms? The button on the standard alarm banner does this for the current mimic. Or is the page with the alarms not a main mimic?

Have you checked the script behind the button? In configuration, right-click the button and select Edit Script. The Click procedure should have the statement AcknowledgeAllAlarms or AcknowledgeAllAlarms "<name of graphic>.grf"
  • In reply to Cedric Dawnhawk:

Inside the graphic page I have the faceplate with the standard alarm information (ex. hi or the alarm limit). The operator station where the graphic page is used has assigned the process area where alarms are present. Another button is needed because I want to recognize only certain precise alarms. These alarms can often not be distinguished by the operator on the standard alarm page because he is not very familiar with it. Finally I checked the script and essentially like the one you described.
Thanks so much for your interest

I am puzzled by what you mean when you say you have a faceplate inside the graphic page. I understand a faceplate as a separate picture so it couldn't be embedded in another picture. Could you clarify, or upload a picture?
  • In reply to Cedric Dawnhawk:

Sorry for the delay in my answear, attach a graphic page. For example, I would like to know the active alarms (still present and / or no longer present) in this graphic page.

  • In reply to Emanuele Fallacara:

Could you not just add a small alarm summary on the graphic that is filtered to this area? You could with some planning, if you're not making use of it, adjust the functional classification or category of the specific alarms either at the module level or the alarm management tool. If you filter in the alarm summary properly to your new functional classification, only when the specific alarms you want come in would they displayed on that graphic and the " acknowledge all" button would only apply to the visible alarms on the alarm summary.

This way, it will display the active alarms in a manner familiar to the operator, and when they clear the "box" would be visible indicating the alarm can be acknowledged.

    Hopefully this helps,

    Joey
  • In reply to Joey Giguere:

It appears that I have misunderstood your problem, possibly due to language. If you want to filter particular alarms, then the alarm summary object is the way to go.

Thanks for your interest and sorry for my not perfect English.
I think I understood what was suggested to me. In the next few days I will try to do some tests and then I will make myself heard.
    Thanks and bye

It works, thank you all for the help you gave me.
DeltaV stands for Total Control ... thanks
