Operator Station Download Error (username or password incorrect)

I have a Professional Plus workstation and an Operator workstation. I am trying to download on the Operator  workstation from the Professional Plus workstation (Engineering workstation). While doing this i am receiving the following error. The user settings image for my Operator Station is also attached. Kindly guide to remove this error.

  • Hi

From the screen shot it is clear that the path for the graphics and charts is not correct.
charts are not enabled for this operator station
Ews log on should be in administrator mode for downloading the operaror station .
So you can correct the path and download the operator station .

  • The error message indicates an issue with account credentials. The Directory paths are correct as DVDATA is a shared folder.

I believe this is caused by incorrect DeltaVAdmin password. Each DeltaV workstation has a local DeltaVAdmin Account which is used by DeltaV services and allows DeltaV Applications to authenticate separately from the interactive user.

You can try to confirm if the DeltaVAdmin account has the same password on both the Pro Plus and the Workstation OWS8. This has nothing to do with a User called OWS8. For that matter, you should avoid using a User Name as a workstation name and vice versa.

If you are not sure what your DeltaVAdmin account password is, it is time to reset it. Use the Srvpwd.exe program to reset the password. This will update all the services with the new password as well. Run this on all your DeltaV workstations so that all of them have the same password for this account.

You do not require an Administrator to perform Downloads. The user does require the Download key to be assigned to his account. It is best practice to not use a Windows Administrator account when working with DeltaV. Such accounts should be reserved for activity that involves windows level privileges. A DeltaV Administrator should be set up as a non-windows administrator. By giving explicit keys and DeltaV Admin privileges, this account is able to administrate DeltaV level functions without accessing full Windows administrative rights. If you currently use the Administrator account, you should create new accounts and disable this. DeltaV disables this account during installs as a standard practice.

I tried your solution but the problem still persists after rerunning the servpwd.exe utility and restarting both the EWS and OWS.

But, i tried to access the OWS providing the path as "//OWS" in windows explorer (Network) from EWS it asks for the username and password. When the username (DELTAVADMIN) and password are entered and the credentials are checked to 'Remember'. After doing this, i tried downloading on OWS and it did not give me any error.  But when i restarted the EWS and tried downloading again, the same error appeared again.
