DTE Block Local Time String HMI Display

I have implemented a DTE Time block in my control module and have stored the local time string in a string variable called TIME1.CV. However, I can't display TIME1.CV in my HMI picture despite setting the data type to alphanumeric and linking it to TIME1.CV.

TIME1.CV logs the time and date fine in the control module. Any clues?
