New 3-wire AI terminal block simplifies analog sensor connections

I just wanted to take a minute to share with you some new information. It’s no secret that the standardization of cabinets and field enclosures brings multiple benefits to the project execution such as reduced cabinet design and fewer drawings. However, the ability to standardize cabinets is strongly dependent on the ability to efficiently handle different types of I/O. In Fire and Gas applications, it is common to find 3-wire analog sensors which traditionally are connected using external terminals for power distribution. The use of external terminals not only adds more components but leads to different cabinet design for the enclosures intended for fire and gas. Emerson has recently introduced a 3-wire AI terminal block to simplify the connection of 3-wire analog sensors by eliminating the need for external components. With Electronic Marshalling, users can handle practically any mix of I/O by selecting the proper CHARM and the proper terminal block. The new 3-wire AI terminal block increases the flexibility for accommodating different types of I/O while maintaining a standard cabinet design. You can find more information in the DeltaV SIS with Electronic Marshalling Product Data Sheet.
