Wire between DeltaV FF Module Termination Block and FF Motherboard (Host conenction wire)

Pol Chen had a question that I responded and wanted to share:

Dear Jim,

I saw your blog and found it helpful to connect me to DeltaV expert inside Emerson. I have a question about type of wire which is used to connect a DeltaV M-Series Redundant H1 Fieldbus I/O Interface Cards(Two-wide Termination Block with Connections for 2 H1 Segments part number: VE4037P0) to Motherboard for FF Power Hub for 2 redundant H1-Segments (MB-FB-2R @ P+F). Actually this is a host connection inside cabinet between FF Module Termination Block and FF Motherboard.

Is this normal wire (like wire is used for 4~20mA signals) or specific fieldbus wire/cable should be used for this connection? I attached the sketch for better understanding about my question.

Regards,

Pol

Jim, there is a recommended fF wiring.  The fF foundation has the specification. Below is the link. Look at page 6

I believe our DeltaV book online reference the cable we tested with and I remember it was Beldin which I used all the time when I was working in the plant.

Turk is another good option:

I hope this help.
