2 wire inductive sensor connect to SOE card

Hello,

We have 2 wire inductive sensors, external power supply to them and DeltaV Sequence of event card.I don't know how to connect make the connection with 2 wires only comming from sensor.

The sequence of event card have " Detection level for OFF" < 0.25 mA. but in configuration it is possible to change Channel type between "Discrete Input Chanel" and "SOE Discrete Input Channel". If I choose Discrete Input Channel will the "Detection level for OFF" change ?

Does anybody have any drawing of how to connect this wires?

Thanks

Don´t know your sensor so it´s hard to tell if it willl work or not, it depends also on the internal connection..

The problem is that this inductive proximity sensor has separate power supply and also the SOE card is feeding power. Similar to the picture, we can't connect the DI card how the "Load" is connected. Also in this type of connecton the current is to high for " Detection level for OFF < 0.25mA".

    Hi,

you will need a NPN sensor because when the signal is 1 it should connect to the ground..

Check how much is the leak current in the sensor, the last sollution if you don´t change the sensor type is to use auxillary relays. but then you loose diagnostics etc..

    Hi,

I think is better use isolator ( barrier) to reshape signal and solved problem.
