errors while performing station configuration on deltav 10.3.1 for historian workstation
The Historian workstation (Dell Precision T3500) crashed at site.
Hence re-installed Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3 in the same machine.
Logged into Windows in Administrator mode, created windows password for administrator user and also increased the virtual memory.
Then installed DeltaV v10.3.1
Did PCinstall using station configuration file. However the following errors were generated during
File Security
stage of PCinstall :-
CService Utils::InstallCSharpService. The service handle didn’t open. Error 1060
An error occurred while installing Guardian Services. Try rebooting your computer or see your administrator for an explanation of error. The operation completed successfully.
This is a Windows Vista workstation. Version control can only be installed on a server machine. The operation completed successfully.
Also while downloading this workstation from Explorer in Engineering Station; the download will stop at 98%. The error message is that the node is turned off. Hence not able to connect this historian workstation to the existing DeltaV network.

Did you encounter any warnings or errors when installing DeltaV?
You may want to double check the PCInstall dialogs if install SQL is ticked. The install may show errors since full SQL is not compatible to workstation OS like XP.

Have you tried checking the UAC? I Do not have v10.3.1 documentation but double check if XP SP3 is supported. If my memory serves me right. I usually install DeltaV using XP SP1 and let DeltaV install complain if it needs an OS with higher SP.
Did you install XP 32bit or 64bit?
