After beginning to utilize AMS Device Manager, Device Alarms are now being logged in the Process History View as well as generating audible and visual alarms on the alarm banner. This is creating a redundant notification that operators do not need to know (if they have received a HIHI Alarm for a level being at 100% they do not also need to know that the loop current is saturated).
I would like to keep device alarms enabled but with visibility limited to Alert Monitor in AMS, in addition, I want these notifications to be eliminated from logging into the Process History View. Simply suppressing these device alarms or disabling them does not seem work. If there is no way to effectively separate AMS Device Manager and DeltaV Operate's Process History View. What is the best way to permanently remove Device Alarms from the Process History View at each Operator Station?
The importance of de-cluttering Process History View is so that Operators can with confidence see the most recent alarm that has gone off at their station. The alarm banner does not work for this, time and time again operators think they are responding to the most recent alarm but they are not. The alarm banner reprioritizes when new alarms come in and if previous alarms have not been acknowledged the most recent can get lost in the shuffle.
Create new Plant Area for Device Alarms. You can assign the filedbus device alarm to the New Area (Fielbus Device Properties/Alarm& Display Tab).Do not assign the Area to the Operator workstations Alarm & Events, assign only to the workstations where you want device alarms to be displayed.
