Process History View filtering

Hello,

In the filter settings of Process History View (Events), in Other Columns, there is a nice description of how to create matching filter strings.

However is there a way or a filter string for *not* matching?

For example if I want to filter out all rows that have a State of "DISABLED", how would I do that? Or is it even possible?

Meaning all row where State does not equal some string.

I'm using DeltaV version 12.

Thanks,

Aaron

  • Hello Aaron,
Have you found any work around or solution to this problem? I was also wondering if you can have 2 or more filters in one field as well? For example in the Level Field: I want to Filter down to 11-Warning or 15-Critical? I have not found a way to apply both those filters to one field.

  • Hi Aaron. I asked our local EMERSON contact for that syntx approx. in 2002 for the first time. As far as I know there is no solution up to now ..

The v14 dialog for Other columns does not indicate any new filter options for exclusion criteria.

In later revisions of DeltaV, user change records now include new and old value in the Desc2. In v12, the record would hold NEW VALUE = ENABLED. In v14, the record would include NEW VALUE = ENABLED, OLD VALUE = DISABLED.

Searching for "New Value = ENABLED*" would work in both cases. Searching just for "*ENABLED* will return records in v14 that set either ENABLED or DISABLED as all writes now contain both words. Not a concern for your situation regarding the STATE field, but an example of how this enhancement could affect existing queries.
