SIS Licensing

Need to know whether to consider DO DST license or AO DST license when we use DVC valves with partial stroke function?

  • Hello Suresh~ I am also going to share this post in the SIS Group for your reference. :)

  • Hi, Suresh. The HART Two-State Output Channel consumes a Discrete Control (DO) DST.
  • I wanted to update this with the most accurate answer, the HART Two-State Output Channel in SLS1508 and/or LS DVC CHARM requires Analog Control Output license.
  • In reply to Tadeu Batista:

Thanks Tadeu.  As a two state device, my inkling was that it was a DO as well, but as the DVC provides so much more value with partial stroke test reporting over HART, that makes sense.

Also the License Demand report will show you that the DVC channels will require AO license:

Thank you Andre, the report is is pretty straightforward!
