Remote Display Possibility?

Is it possible to provide a remote display, a TV screen, with a single graphic that doesn't change from a location that does not have an OWS? If it is possible, how would it be executed? We have 4 loading racks that we would like to bring the batching meters into DV and give the loaders a screen to monitor the loading, but not be able to control anything. The system is DeltaV 11.3.

  • Many options, PCoIP, KVM extender, RDP session. Depends on what your system has available. I've used the second output on a Dual monitor OWS to drive a remote monitor, but that does cause issues with mouse cursors!

Perhaps you could use some form of terminal (WYSE or NUC box) to log into a DV Remote Client session, but you'll need a base station license and more if you want alarms.

Are you already collecting your data in an Enterprise historian like OSI PI? The most secure means of providing view only data is to use a visualization package like OSI Process Book / Core Sight running on a non-control network terminal that connects to the historian outside of the control network.

Otherwise, DeltaV Executive Portal provides web-based dashboard connectivity to a DeltaV continuous historian (among other sources), and can be set up outside the control network.

If using RDSessions or any sort of interactive environment within the control system, ensure you disable things like CTRL+ALT+DEL, task manager, on the server to ensure locking down OS activities.
