is it possible to display the control horizon in MPC operate Pro? if yes, how to enable it?

I would like to track running a MPC pro control in real plant before turning it on. The MPC Operate Pro provides the target prediction. but I also want to know the future movement plan. Is it possible to visualize this trend in the chart as well? thank you

  • It is available with MPCPlus, but not with MPCPro. If you use MPCPlus, it will just show up... nothing special to do. However, the move plane only looks ahead part of the way to TSS, so the time scale may be a bit confusing.

Hello Lou, thank you for quick reply and tips about moving plan is just a part of TSS horizon. I tried MPCPlus and great to see the moving plan. MPCPlus is much easier for online tuning. I will use MPCPlus for tuning and then finally applied the same PM,PE in MPCPro. Just wondering will I get the similar control results with same parameters in MPCPro and MPCPlus? Is the length of control horizon for MPCPlus the same as MPCPro(16)? Thank you.
  • one more question about the moving penalty. the ''default penalty" is calculated as PMi = 3(1 + DTi/20 + Gi * DTi/40) mentioned in other post. But I tried this equation with SISO in simulation Gain = 0.7 and DTi =20 second, TSS=120 second. The PM = 3(1 + 20/20 + 0.7 * 20/40) = 7.05 But the MPCPro gave the default value is 31. How to calculate the 'default 'moving penalty? Thank you.
