[EE365 DeltaV Track] Switching Area control rights

You won't be able to prohibit user area access based on time, but you can script in deltav operate to filter alarms or prevent access to graphic displays based on logged in user and time.

This won't stop a user's ability to access controls via faceplate or control studio, but will serve to guide access.

Hi,

I have a plant with a building (lest say an AREA A) that have to be controlled in normal hours (8:00AM to 6:00PM for ex.) by a Team A in a local control room. This same building have to be supervised the rest of the time by a team B (in a centralized control room).

I don't want the guys from Team B to see the alarms and to be able to control AREA A while Team A is on site. Re : Team B is on site all the time (normal and extra hours) for the plant control.

I would like to avoid people in Team B to have 2 logins.

For security reasons I don't want any password to be stored in a graphic script or in a module.

Is there a way to do this within Delta V system (11.3 and 12.3) ?

Guillaume.

  • Hi Guillaume, Youssef,
If you don't want your guys from the team B see the alarms while Team A is on site, you can try this one :
On the Proplus server with a domain and for each user you have 2 options : Account -> Logon Hours and Account -> Log on to. With the Logon hours, you can select the hours where the users can logon on the DeltaV with the associated restrictions !
If you want this users from the Team B see the alarms without acknowledge while Team A is on site, you must also log on the workstations with a visitor account in order to see the alarms. For this visitor account you give a key or a group without rights to affect 'SiteWide' for the plant Area.
I hope this explanation acan help youRichard

Richard, I thought about your os account setting strategy (elegant), but i was under the impression that team b still needed to log in during team a's shift, perhaps they still have responsibility to other areas. Perhaps Guillame can clarify.
