DB Recovery, SIS implications

We're still waiting GSC feedback after 4 days, so I'm looking for a consensus from you guys regarding a DeltaV DB recover from fhx. 10.3.1

Live plant with equipment running, after suffering a DB crash, re-created new DB, import of fhx successful apart from two SIS logic solvers (failed on “script size >100K”, and are now showing in Explorer as de-commissioned). In the present condition, all the DV controllers are indicating healthy, but all workstations are showing RED X as we need to download the PRO+.

Question is what effect will it have on the SLS’s that have not imported? They are shown in DV explorer as de-commissioned; I’m reluctant to perform a PRO+ station download in case it will cause the de-commissioned SLS’s to trip.

One suggestion I’ve received so far is to try performing a PRO+ download whilst disconnected from CN, I would then only need to worry about the SLS at a later date (fix the logic to reduce script size, and re-commission them).

Plant shutdown is expected sometime in the next two weeks, therefore, is it wise to hang on?

Thoughts?

  • In my opinion download of the ProPlus should have no effect on the SLS. I have never experienced a contoller or LS (unless they are simulated on the ProPlus) download when Proplus download is performed.  However, if you have a luxury to wait 2 weeks I would also do that.
