Corrupted database recovery

Hello,

we are using Pro+ station. After installing anti-virus on the computer we’ve got a corrupted DeltaV database - DvDbServer 15530 error ID, when trying to load the DB. Is there any way to recover this database, ‘cause we don’t have any new backups. Here's the log:

Database File Path = D:\DeltaV\DVData\Databases\V8_4\Site.configdb.DB
** Error #4301: Storage Manager: Cannot open file
dvinst::D:\DeltaV\DVData\Databases\V8_4\Site.configdb.DD (файл существует) (100101)
** Error #4402: Storage Manager: Cannot tidy file
dvinst::D:\DeltaV\DVData\Databases\V8_4\Site.configdb.DB (103402)
*Not Tidied*

Maybe there're some tools to open this DB and fix it.

  • Kirill -
Based on the excerpt from your logs, it looks like you were in the middle of a database clean. The Site.configdb.DD file is a temporary file used during the clean.

I would first suggest rebooting your ProPLUS. This often fixes DvDbServer 15530 errors.

If the errors persist, or DeltaV cannot connect to the database after rebooting, I would suggest shutting down the DeltaV Database Server from the Database Administration utility, manually removing the DD file(s) from your active database directory (D:\DeltaV\DVData\Databases\V8_4), and then restarting the database server. Since your Site.configdb.DB file is still present, you likely have not lost your previous configuration.

If that does not work, you may have to contact your Emerson support provider to attempt a database recovery.

For reference, it is a best practice to install antivirus and other supported, non-DeltaV applications before DeltaV itself. Also, the directories associated with attached Objectivity databases (DeltaV configuration database, DeltaV Continuous Historian, etc...) and SQL databases (Event Chronicle, Batch Historian, AMS, etc...) should be excluded from the scans.

    Best regards, and good luck!

Here's a screenshot of the event-log before the error occurred. The previous log was from running Clean Database command, so there's no Site.configdb.DD file now. Here's the list of all files:

    AreasAndModules.configdb.DB
    AreasAndModules_1.configdb.DB
    AreasAndModules_2.configdb.DB
    AreasAndModules_3.configdb.DB
    AreasAndModules_4.configdb.DB
    backup.hbk
    Batch.configdb.DB
    configdb.hdb
    configdb.hdb.FDB
    configdb.vsn
    FieldDevices.configdb.DB
    FunctionBlocks.configdb.DB
    Nodes.configdb.DB
    Nodes_1.configdb.DB
    Site.configdb.DB
    Site_1.configdb.DB
    Site_2.configdb.DB

I've rebooted the whole ProPLUS station - no luck. Maybe there's some way to withdraw something from currently active workstations?

    HI Kirill
Please make a copy of your database and shutdown DeltaV server
You can try the export tool utility, try to open c:\DeltaV\bin\DBImportExportUtil.exe
in the tool you need to set:
Database: configdb.hdb file in your db folder
    Directory: export folder
    Set Name: export file name
then please use Online Upgrade Export

    Good Luck!
