Download Recipe changes while running

Refresh my memory!

I am running a Procedure.  Simultaneously, we need to update formula values for the Procedure in the database so that next time we run it we will use the new formula values.

Can I download the Procedure in the Batch Executive while it is running without affecting the Procedure?

Version 11.3.1.  I'm pretty sure you can in this version, but I wanted a double check assurance.  Thanks.

  • Yes.  You can download the procedure safely.

When one starts a batch a local copy of the procedure is made.  The batch is executed from that copy on the BE.

Any recipe changes do not take effect until one loads another batch from the updated recipe.

Thanks Maury.  I was also thinking about the 'Recipe Resynchronization' option for the Batch Rexecutive which would apply my new downloaded changes in-process, but only if I have that enabled, and with many conditions.

I looked this up in BOL under 'Recipe Resynchronization' to learn all about it.
