Virtual Controller in DeltaV Test-system

We do all of the DeltaV-programming on a simulate mulitnode system.

For testing we can assign the control modules to a test-controller or a server. This works well for testing.

But when we export the control modules from the testing system and import them to the factory-system, we need to change all the assignments of the control modules. Because on the test-system they are assigned to the test-controller or test-server and not to the controller in the factorysystem were they eventually need to be.

Is there a solution such as a "virtual controller" so you can assign you're control modules to the right controller in the test-system and be able to test them? (cfr PLCSIM of siemens)

Are there other ways to reduce the workload of the export/import?

  • Jeroen, Emerson is working on a true DeltaV Virtual Controller and will release this in the near future.  We are also developing a corresponding Simulated IO Driver for our MiMiC Simulation Software, www.mynah.com/.../mimic, that will be available at the same time.  Your local Emerson rep can probably get you more information and a better idea of timing.

    Best Regards.
