Setting up VIM 2's

We are upgrading to DeltaV 15 which means we have to upgrade our VIM 1's to VIM 2's.  So I thought I would flash the firmware for the new VIM 2's on the bench instead of a live controller.  The first one was going great, the firmware flashed without error, but after the flash was finished the VIM I'm working on is stuck in the decommissioned folder without an ip address.  In the properties window for the VIM shows the firmware version matches but the ip address field blank is grayed out.  There isn't anything in the simulated net folder anymore and it won't let assign the VIM to it either.  Has anyone had this, or a similar problem?
