Ethernet cable requirements for DeltaV Operator Panel (touchscreen HMI)

Hello folks! I have reviewed the following topics in BOL

  • Twisted pair network with DeltaV Smart Switches, CHARMs I/O, and S-series I/O
  • Category 5(e) Screened 4 Twisted Pair (ScTP) cable guidelines
  • Building Twisted Pair Cable Assemblies

and I am not able to decide if it adequately addresses network connections for DeltaV Operator Panel (touchscreen HMI) such as this one:

SE2618C02 21.5” Touchscreen Monitor, 1920x1080 FHD Resolution; 16GB RAM; 480GB SSD Drive; Recommended with DeltaV Live

If these are to be lumped under "Operator Stations or Application Stations" then they should require an Ethernet cable that is UN-shielded at one end and shielded at the other end.

I don't have eyes on the HMI or I might be able to guess better. I know that CIOC's and controllers are built with faraday cages to isolate the ethernet electronics in them from their local grounding, so they are meant to work with cables shielded at both ends. If the HMI's are not built the same way, they may require a non-shielded connection.

Ideally, I would like to see Emerson add some touchscreens to their network diagrams in Books Online.

Can anyone confirm? Thanks!
