Auto Adjust of Faceplates on DeltaV Live

Hello,

Just wanted to gather insight whether there's any functionality to resize faceplates in Run-time Mode?

Used the parameter Dsp.Height.Pt to set the height.

Can see the height of the visible content of faceplate is reduced, but the window in the original size of the faceplate is still visible.

If I try to increase the height, it does not have any effect.

Is there any other method to achieve this.

Kind regards,

Abhishek

  • The contextual display has an aspect ratio based on its design as set in the database. If you change the window size in one axis, the extra space would be blank. If you expand both width and height while respecting the same aspect ratio, the display should fill the space available until it's width or height reaches the limit of the window. It does not stretch width or height to fill the window.

I have not tried to make the contextual windows dynamic, but this is what I would expect. With a graphic, the display will center in the available space, referred to as letterboxing, with space above and below or on either side. In this popup, it appears to align to the upper left corner. Interesting. Try changing both dimensions to see the display expand and get larger.

  • Dynamically changing Faceplate Height and Width isn't supported in Live like you could do in Operate. You have to accept the "gray" space for unused items that don't appear on a Faceplate.

Is there something that "sometimes" appears below that alarm list object?

Yes, there's an animated button that appears when certain conditions are met. However, in the case where that object in not animated. The blank space is rather unattractive.
