Is it Possible to Achieve Measurement Accuracy on Moving Vessels? Yes!

Flow Meters for Maritime VesselsAre external vibrations causing you inaccurate flow meter readings? Are you experiencing slow to no flow readings at all?
Contrary to what you may have heard, it is possible to successfully achieve accurate readings from flow meters on marine vessels.
External vibration can cause the flow meter to see flow, but it would need to be a WHOLE LOT of vibration.
What is more likely is that the tubes in the meter are not equally filled with liquid. which causes the meter to be out of balance (and will
show a flowrate).

Coriolis Flow Meters, specifically CMF400s, are successfully being used to measure mass flow on ships around the globe. To ensure accuracy,
we provide a Certified Emerson Marine Service Engineer who will conduct a survey to evaluate the unique needs of the vessel
and identify process conditions, optimal location, mass flow meter size and determine any required modifications to the ship’s existing system.

This critical step helps you ensure you select the right flow meter for your application and implement best practice during flow meter installation
that will help you avoid external vibrations.
