1420 Gateway Issue

Wed, 16-Dec-2020

We have (5) 1420 Gateways used for monitoring Steam, Potable Water, and Sewage Flow around our Center; all were upgraded to 4.7.90 Firmware last month.  When interrogating one of the Gateways using the web browser late last week, I noticed that 'Active Advertising'  is turned ON all the time.  No action occurs when clicking the 'NO' radio button.  The Gateway was reset from the web browser - no change to the condition.  A power-cycle was done and the 'Active Advertising' radio buttons then became selectable;  however, within a day the Gateway turned on Active Advertising again.  No other  user has accessed the system, and the other (4) Gateways act 'normally' i.e. the radio buttons for Active Advertising are selectable.

It looks like 6 battery-powered devices assigned to this Gateway have had their batteries depleted. There are 7 other devices that utilize THUMS assigned to this Gateway and they're working fine.  I understand that Active Advertising can stress the field devices.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?  Any suggestions?

Thanks!

    Alexandre;

    Thanks for getting back to me!  I did contact the Emerson Wireless Specialists just before the Holidays and they were able to help me!  We still have more work to do here to bolster our wirelessHART mesh network, but we have a good informational resource now!

    Thanks again,
