SIM value linked to PV in faceplate : How it works ?

Hi,

One of my module AI simulation was not not working so i checked FP datalink, The value was linked to PV. 
Although my simulation worked after i gave download to module but really surprise on how it is writing to SIM value when it is actually linked to PV.

  Data link displays AI1/PV but there will be script on 'click' event that will be writing to AI1/SIMULATE (or other appropriate parameter).
