Profinet over WiFi using WAGO products

Hi,

We need to connect 2 mobile skids to our existing PROFINET network, which is connected to VIM2 module.

We use WAGO 750-852 (https://www.wago.com/be-fr/contr%C3%B4leur/contr%C3%B4leur-ethernet/p/750-852) and we would like to replace it with WAGO 750-375 (https://www.wago.com/be-fr/syst%C3%A8mes-i-o/coupleur-de-bus-de-terrain-profinet-io/p/750-375). Then connect WAGO 750-375 (https://www.wago.com/be-fr/syst%C3%A8mes-i-o/coupleur-de-bus-de-terrain-profinet-io/p/750-375) to WAGO 758-918 (https://www.wago.com/be-fr/accessoires/passerelle-wireless-ethernet/p/758-918) to provide a WiFi signal.

As well we would like to connect additional WAGO 758-918 (https://www.wago.com/be-fr/accessoires/passerelle-wireless-ethernet/p/758-918) to provide a wireless communication between skids and PROFINET network we already have.

Does anyone used WAGO 750-375 with combination of 758-918? Will it be reliable enough communication, considering we have plenty of free WiFi channels in the area where PROFINET over WiFi will work?

Regards

Sebastian

  • I've an update from WAGO: "758-918 can be used in combination with Profinet for wireless transmission", but they don't have any reference from site. Does anyone have an experience with it?
