Delta V Smart Switches

Hello All, 

I have some doubt about the Smart Switches series VE6046, VE6047, VE6048, VE6053 VE6053 and VE6054.

Did Smart Switches support VLAN´s, some kind of Loop Control protocol and Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) ?

    Hi Cristian,
    DeltaV Smart Switches do not support VLANs and it is not possible to configure one, though they appear to be capable of it. The Smart Switch is a BPCS and SIS specific switch and intentionally locked down to prevent unintentional (or intentional) disruptions to the control system network. There is a history to why Emerson chose this path and it is filled with process disruptions due to well meaning managed switch changes. The Smart Firewall is specific for the process control market as well.
    However, capabilities are added in newer firmware versions so some secure process may be added in the future.
