Restrict SIS Online Changes

Hi,

I have a question regarding DeltaV SIS Version 13.3. Is it possible to restict online changes independent of the user rights (from system side). The SIS engineer should not be able to change online for example a trip point. A download should be necessary for every change.

Thanks in advance.

best regards,

Manuel

  • Manuel,
DeltaV v14 introduces enhancements in the lock functionality that prevent on-line changes to parameters that could impact the safety function (e.g. a trip limit). Starting v14, the user has the ability to enabled the enhanced access control for function block parameters. Once this feature is enabled, the user will need to unlock the logic solver before performing on-line changes to certain parameters. Some parameters like a reset are always allowed but some parameters like trip direction, trip limit, number of vote to trip are now prevented as long as the logic solver is locked.

I know you question was specifically for v13.3 but I wanted to make sure you are aware of the improvements introduced in v14. One option to restrict on-line changes to certain parameters in v13 is to create a user-defined parameter and wire it to the parameter that needs to be restricted (e.g. the trip limit). Please make sure the user-defined parameter named is associated with the key "SIS No Access". Unless the name of user defined parameter was already included in the SIS parameter security section (under library), the parameter will be associated with the SIS No Access key (which is the default key in SIS). Since the SIS No Access key can't not be granted to any user, nobody will be able to modify the trip limit on-line.
