Deltav Mirror Redundancy database not synchronised

Hi all ,

I need a little help resolving issue in OPC servers (redundant), in diagnostics under OPC mirror redundancy the staus of standby is "The redundant OPC Mirror databases are not synchronised" and how do i resolve this issue? when i manually switchover the OPC servers the standby machine is not updated with new pipes i have to manually load them again with loss of process time.

  • Is this a new installation or one that has stopped working? What DV version 10 or 11?

Windows event log should give you some indication as to the issue with OPC Mirror not syncronising, check the Applicaiton log for OPC Mirror events, especially Redundancy/RedundancyDiagnostics categories.

    Make sure of the following

    1. you have the shared OPC Mirror driectory on both app stations (and can access it).

    2. redundant OPC Feature is set to DA and Mirror (node config in DV Explorer)

    3. resolve pending downloads

    Dear Adrian,

    DV version is 10.3.1

    This is not new installation

Redundant OPC Feature is set to "DA and Mirror "node config in DV Explorer

Had a look in to events  one error is generating often "copy database file-failed to copy database file from partner" event id 3

What about the shared directory, is it accessible from both Application stations?

Redundant OPC Mirror uses a shared directory on each Application station, make sure you can access this from respective application stations (from RED_APP server try "\\RED_APP_S\OPC Mirror" and vice versa from RED_APP_S try "\\RED_APP\OPC Mirror"), this will check security is not affecting mirror DB transfers.

  • In reply to AdrianOffield:

Yes they are accessible tried both ways no problem with sharing and security

So first you'll need to establish which one is actually active (check WInName in DIAG). From the Primary app station see if you can edit OPC mirror pipes (configure from MirrorTray), this will make sure the DB is OK.

If you know the DB is good and you understand which App station is primary/standby, restart the standby applicaiton station and let it run through the syncronisation process again. Make sure you come out of mirror configure (on the primary) whilst the app stations are syncing.

  • In reply to AdrianOffield:

OPCSRV01_s was my active server (i could edit pipes) hence i restarted twice OPCSRV01 but no difference still the same error exists.

What happens when you open mirror confgure from the standby app station? can you see pipes?

check to see if frsopcmr.mdb is in the standby OPC Mirror directory.

Another thing, what user is OPC Mirror set to run as? is it a different user to the one you are logged on with?
