CAO SCADA

treat the following questions with urgency. If possible send some soft copy materials

1. what can make a coriolis meter not to function even when there is a supply 0f 6v to it?

2. How best can a curiolis transmitter be zero, in order to display the desired well test parameters?

3. What can make a CAO SCADA system unable to see the coriolis transmitter.?

4. If an AMS software fails to run on a delta v system what can be done?

5. is doggle key or license key generic for delta v systems or it flowstation specific?

  • Hi . There are a few different experts that might need to chime in here as you've referenced multiple technologies. Tagging a few here as each may only follow their specfic groups. & (re: Coriolis) (re: DeltaV & SCADA).

  • 6 V sounds like too little. Remember you need power for both transmitter and flow tube.

What protocol are you using to communicate?

Which model transmitter are you using?

    Hi Plato,

We really need more details before we can begin to help you out. Tossing out small nibbles of questions with a high importance flag doesn't help anyone help you. Details are king.

Question #3: How do you have the flowmeter connected to the SCADA system? What is the interface between the SCADA and the flow meter? What protocol is is talking? Do you see flowmeter values at the device, the intermediary, or anywhere else? Does the flowmeter work?

Question #4: What is the error you are getting when trying to run AMS? What version of DeltaV? What version of AMS? Where did you install AMS: on the ProPlus, an App Station, or elsewhere? Is AMS licensed properly?

Question #5: On a DeltaV system, the dongle must be plugged into the ProPlus. Why do you ask this?

    Thanks,

Question 5: Each DeltaV Dongle is specific to the DeltaV System and comes with a set of License files that must be loaded into the system and assigned. The license dongle is typically installed on the PRo Plus, but can be plugged into any DeltaV station. The DeltaV station then publishes the Dongle to the pro plus and other nodes. But it is strongly recommended to place the Licensed System Dongle on the Pro Plus since without it, the system is unlicensed and downloads would not be possible. There is one dongle for the entire DeltaV system, you do not need one on each workstation.

  • To power a Micro Motion Coriolis meter with DC power, a minimum of 18 VDC is required. 6 VDC is not sufficient power to operate the device. The SCADA system probably cannot see the meter because it is not powering up.
I'm sorry, but I don't completely understand the question #2. Please explain more about the well test parameters you are looking for. Usually the meter zero value that we set at the factory is already good for well testing measurements.
